International Women’s Day 2017 has been a time for LACW for reflect on the work achieved in the last 12 months and the considerable work that we see ahead. Our Principal, Jillian Prior was a panelist at two excellent IWD events this year. At the Women’s Health West breakfast, Jill joined an impressive line up of speakers, Dr Victor Sojo of Victoria Univesity, Hana Assafiri of Moroccan Soup Bar fame and Dr Susan Alberti, passionate advocate and supporter for both women and football.
Thank you to Arnold Bloch Leibler and the Human Rights Law Centre for cohosting our second IWD event. We were so pleased to hear from the insightful, Honourable Marcia Neave AO (former chair of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and former Judge of the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Victoria) and Meena Singh (Associate Director of Aboriginal Services, Victoria Legal Aid and proud Yorta Yorta woman), alongside Jill.
